Total Anomalous Pulmonary Venous Return (TAPVR)

There are a number of different ways in which the blood returning from the lungs ends up in the right atrium rather than the left atrium. These abnormal connections might become narrowed and babies with this heart problem can become very ill because they can’t get blood out of their lungs. This heart problem can be particularly difficult to detect on a routine prenatal ultrasound.
